Clarification Of Self Help Community Project: Osinrungboye Street Rehabilitation And Reconstruction Road Development In Ondo Town

This is to inform the general public that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Osinrungboye Street was initiated by an individual Ondo indigene, Otunba Damilola Oladimeji (Ojo Gbogbo Bi Odun ‘II’), whose biological father’s house was situated at No.10 Osinrungboye Street to commemorate the 50th Memorial Anniversary of his late beloved father, Prince Bamgbala Oladimeji Orimolade (a.k.a. Bai ‘Ladi L’Oko Eko of blessed memory) who passed away on 19th May 1972.

Curiously, it has just been brought to my attention that a signpost has been erected to credit the road work as a Federal Government Agency Project, after I have spent several millions of naira to reconstruct and rehabilitate the entire Street drainage and main road for flow of irrigation water and open it free for the road users. The referred signpost has no Project Reference Number, Honourable Minister Authority, Consultant Firm, and the Construction Company including their operational address. I can acknowledge the Government Agency little support with provisions of few tipper laterites to enhance the sand filling completion of Osinrungboye Street ‘Self Help Community Project’ road work which has been dilapidated and abandoned for nearly five decades, even before the creation of Ondo State in 1976. I have never had it in history of event that the Federal Government of Nigeria will ever dabble to undertake a none tarred road construction of less than one kilometre either directly or indirectly.

It will be more appropriate for those involved in the attempted hijacked of the Osinrungboye Street ‘Self Help Community Project’ Road work sometimes in April / May 2022 to be more transparent and give the credit to whom it belongs. Even though, I have achieved my aims and objectives to make the Osinrungboye Street more accessible for pedestrian users and motorable to the general public in honour of the evergreen memory of my late father since early January 2022. The rest is now part of history, but it is a Self-Help Community Project undertaken on behalf of the entire House Owners / Landlords of Osinrungboye Street in Ondo Town.

Please permit me to sound it loud and clear that I am not a politician neither interested in politics of whatsoever now or in the near future. The next phase of the Self-Help Community Project will be extended for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Lomidu Street in Okerowo Community Area in commemoration of our Charity Organisation Group (OCNE) 10th Years Founders Day Anniversary with three other ancient Street which has been dilapidated and abandoned for nearly five decades, even before the creation of Ondo State in 1976 respectively.

Finally, let us jointly help those that needs help and do what is right at the right time for the benefit and development of our Heritage.
